It opens the door for cricket to be showcased to a global audience beyond its traditional fan base with limited origin. Did you know ? Cricket was only played once in the Olympics before way back in 1900 in Paris. That time only two teams played  one from Great Britain and the other from France. It was a two-day match and Great Britain won the gold medal. But now cricket is returning in a modern and exciting T20 format.

Cricket fans are super excited because cricket is finally coming back to the Olympics in Los Angeles 2028. The matches will start from July 12, the official schedule was shared by the organisers.

Both men’s and women’s tournaments will participate and each will have their own gold, silver, and bronze medals. The games will start at 9:00 AM and 6:30 PM (LA time), which means 9:30 PM and 7:00 AM in India.

Only six teams will play in each tournament, and each team can have 15 players. So there will be 90 players in total for men and women.

All the matches will be played at a special cricket stadium built just for the Olympics in Pomona, which is around 50 km from Los Angeles.

It’s a big moment for cricket fans, and we just can’t wait to see our favourite teams and players in action at the Olympics again.
